Spokbee’s platform provides manufacturers with an accessible and cost-effective way to test new materials and design ideas.
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio—The path to mass customization—the ability to produce personalized products at scale without sacrificing efficiency or cost-effectiveness—has long been a challenge for the additive manufacturing (AM) industry. But a Cleveland-based innovator is working to transform this space with a product configurator platform that reportedly enables 3D printing manufacturers to “design and personalize products in seconds.”
According to a release from America Makes, Spokbee has developed a Configure, Price, Deliver (CPD) platform that enables real-time 3D product configuration and instant pricing quotes. This capability is said to empower 3D printing manufacturers to “offer an unprecedented level of customization, with every variation designed for the specific manufacturing method and material.”
Spokbee’s vision, however, is said to extend far beyond just streamlining the product configuration and pricing process. The company is also focused on making it easier for manufacturers to experiment with new materials and launch innovative 3D printable products, the release said.
Spokbee’s CPD platform is reported to empower mass customization in multiple ways. By building an expansive digital design library and accelerating material innovation, the company is seeking to “propel the industry forward and unlock unprecedented levels of growth and creativity.”

The CPD platform provides manufacturers with an accessible and cost-effective way to test new materials and design ideas. Its massive library of pre-designed, 3D printable parts gives companies an opportunity to rapidly prototype and iterate on new concepts without the traditional barriers of CAD expertise or lengthy development timelines, the release said.
“With our configurator platform, the real power lies in the ability to design a product just once, then create a virtually limitless number of variations from that single design,” said Spokbee CEO Mac Cameron, in the release. “Whether it’s custom brackets, specialized fasteners, or even complex manufacturing jigs and fixtures, our configurators empower anyone, even those without CAD expertise, to build exactly what they need with just a few clicks. It’s a game-changer for industries like automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing that rely on highly customized parts and tools.”
America Makes is an institute of the Manufacturing USA Network. Founded in 2012 as the U.S. Department of Defense’ national manufacturing innovation institute for additive manufacturing, America Makes is a public-private partnership that works to accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing and increase U.S. manufacturing competitiveness. It is based in Youngstown, Ohio and managed by the not-for-profit National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining.
