The acquisition is said to create a one-stop shop for a comprehensive set of CAD data translation and publishing software.

BEND, Ore.—Tech Soft 3D, a provider of engineering software development tool kits, reported that it completed its acquisition of Theorem Solutions, makers of advanced software for CAD data translation and publishing.

The acquisition aligns with “Tech Soft 3D’s plans to fuel growth by investing in product development, scaling the company’s global reach, and increasing its product offerings through acquisitions,” the company said in a release.

Theorem’s CADTranslate and CADPublish products are said to complement Tech Soft 3D’s HOOPS Exchange and HOOPS Publish software developer toolkits (SDKs), creating “an ecosystem of data translation, publishing, and 3D PDF solutions for end-users and developers.” In addition, TheoremXR software provides capabilities for manufacturers to use their 3D CAD data in extended reality (XR) applications for numerous manufacturing use cases, such as design review and factory layout, according to the release.

“We have long admired and appreciated Theorem’s deep expertise in CAD data exchange and have had a chance to work closely with the team as they created their solutions,” said Ron Fritz, CEO of Tech Soft 3D, in a statement. “This acquisition makes Tech Soft 3D a one-stop shop for the most comprehensive set of CAD data translation and publishing solutions and is also in line with our vision of helping users, developers, and enterprises leverage the full value of their 3D data.”

According to Tech Soft 3D, its organization will continue to focus on providing core intellectual property to developers. At the same time, the Theorem team will continue to focus on delivering products directly to industrial end-users.

“Over the years, Theorem has built products on top of certain core component technologies from Tech Soft 3D, so we know the teams are compatible and our technologies complementary,” said Theorem Solutions CEO Mark Stowe, in the release. “We also know that we share a vision of how to extend the value of 3D data for manufacturing enterprises and their supply chains. We’re extremely excited about what we can achieve together.”

Tech Soft 3D said it intends to continue to maintain and support Theorem’s existing customers that are using its CADTranslate, CADPublish and TheoremXR offerings.
