SEGEPO-FSM prides itself on building long lasting relationships with customers

Machining specialist SEGEPO-FSM has been providing customers with precision machined parts for 118 years. The Cold Spring, Kentucky-based company specializes in precision CNC and Swiss machining of components that include compression limiters, knurled inserts, nuts, and fittings, primarily for Tier 2 and Tier 3 companies. Its equipment of choice: multi-spindle automatic screw machines and CNC horizontal turning machines.
Davenport screw machines require an extremely high level of skill and on-the-job training, said Aurelien Petit, SEGEPO-FSM’s Director of Sales and Marketing, in an emailed response. Calling the company’s machinists “some of the best in the business,” Petit said they can hold screw machine tolerances down to 0.003 inch and CNC tolerances down to 0.001 inch. The company also helps customers solve technical challenges by providing recommendations on torque and pullout strength for inserts; plating recommendations based on the application; and material recommendations based on strength requirements.
“We pride ourselves in making high quality parts and keeping long lasting relationships with our customers,” Petit said. “Our expertise is second to none, and we offer excellent and responsive customer service.”
The company, operating out of a 45,000-square-foot facility in the Greater Cincinnati area, serves a variety of customers in industries like automotive, heavy-duty and off-highway truck, electrical and electronics, and fluid control. SEGEPO-FSM has a quality management system that is ISO 9001:2015 certified for the manufacture of fasteners, inserts, and precision machined parts, according to its registration certificate.
The company calls itself “a stickler for attention to detail” on its website. Petit said the company provides parts that are completely residue free by performing “state-of-the art, zero emissions parts cleaning with ultrasonics. It consistently scores 95 percent or above on customer scorecards, he added.
“From the very first Davenport in the early 1900s, to the building of our brand-new facility in the 1980s, to the addition of state-of-the-art degreaser and chip recovery units, or to having over 40 multi-spindle machines and 8 CNC and Swiss machines today, the company never ceased to improve and grow since its inception in 1905,” Petit said.
SEGEPO-FSM is part of the SEGEPO Group, a global team of manufacturing companies with seven locations across the world, including four in France and one each in Poland and Turkey. With a “think global, act local,” philosophy, SEGEPO Group offers turning, machining, assembling, and plastic injection molding services.
“This has been appealing to more customers with the global trend to localize sourcing and production, to minimize supply chain disruption and reinforce positioning in CSR (corporate social responsibility),” said Petit.
