SOUDERTON, Pa.—Solar Atmospheres, a commercial heat treating company, recently commissioned two additional 2-bar vacuum furnaces at its Eastern Pennsylvania facility in Souderton, the company said in a release.

The additional vacuum furnaces expand the company’s capabilities to meet increased demand in the aerospace and industrial gas turbine sectors, and for specialized hydride/de-hydride processing of titanium, tantalum, and niobium. Produced by Solar’s sister company, Solar Manufacturing, they are reported to feature large working hot zones (45-inch x 45-inch x 72-inch) and are rated for operations up to 2400°F with a precise temperature uniformity of ±10°F, according to the release.
