HOLLISTON, Mass.—Esco Tool recently introduced a new welding alignment tool that reportedly helps prevent degradation of the pipe or tube inside diameter (ID). The company said in a release that it developed the pipe and tube alignment tool “for high-temperature and high-pressure piping where smooth, unrestricted internal flow is critical.”
Esco’s HOG TIE® Weld Alignment Clamp is reported to align pipe and tube “perfectly,” exposing their ends for tack welding prior to removal to complete the entire weld joint. It is made from precision machined high-speed steel and is available in 11 sizes for pipe and tube, from 1.125 inch to 3.25 inches outside diameter (OD), the release stated.
According to Esco Tool, the weld alignment clamp sets up fast and is well-suited for use with boiler- and single-tube, high-temperature and high-pressure applications.
“Ideal for waterwall, economizer, header, crossover, superheat, reheat, and generating tubes, it is offered by itself or as a complete kit with an impact wrench and socket, four 0.5-inch bolts, two spare through-hole inserts, two spare threaded inserts, and a metal carrying case.”
