The certification is said to position the company for greater collaboration and innovation within the defense sector.
DETROIT—Contract manufacturer Detroit Manufacturing Systems (DMS) reported that it recently received successful registration and approval from the Joint Certification Program (JCP). The milestone is said to mark DMS’s “commitment to excellence in accessing Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of National Defense (DND) unclassified, export-controlled technical data and critical technology,” according to a company release.
The Joint Certification Program, established in 1985, was designed to facilitate U.S. and Canadian contractors’ access to DoD/DND unclassified, export-controlled technical data and critical technology on an equally favorable basis. The approval “aligns with DMS’s mission to enhance its capabilities and expand its offerings to better serve its customers and contribute to national security efforts,” the company said in the release.
As a contract manufacturing and assembly company, Detroit Manufacturing Systems is committed to—and is constantly striving for—“manufacturing excellence and perfect quality.” The company said it employs meticulous error-proofing and a culture of continuous improvement to achieve these goals. Its manufacturing systems capabilities include design and development of assembly and subassembly work cells, ranging from manual to semi-automated and fully automated systems. Engineering design for manufacturing (DFM), program and launch management, injection molding, and welding are also among DMS’s capabilities, the company’s website stated.
In addition to proactively and transparently engaging with customers and suppliers, DMS is committed to protecting the local and global environment. To this purpose, DMS seeks to minimize the environmental impacts of its activities, products, and services.
According to DMS, the approval from the Joint Certification Program underscores the manufacturer’s ongoing commitment to regulatory compliance, innovation, and customer satisfaction. The company said that by adhering to the rigorous standards set forth by the JCP, DMS “reaffirms its position as a trusted partner in the automotive and defense industries.”
“We are thrilled to have achieved registration and approval from the Joint Certification Program,” said Scott Cieslak, chief commercial officer at Detroit Manufacturing Systems, in the release. “This accomplishment reflects our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and quality in serving our customers. It also positions us for greater collaboration and innovation within the defense sector.”
