The milestone signifies Preferred Utilities’ commitment to providing high-quality, resilient products for healthcare and other critical facility applications, the company said.
DANBURY, Conn.—Preferred Utilities, a U.S. manufacturer of advanced fuel oil handling systems, recently received HCAI/OSPHD OSP approval of its double-wall Day Tanks, the company said in a release.
The milestone is said to reflect Preferred Utilities’ commitment to providing high-quality, resilient products for healthcare and other critical facility applications, especially in seismically active regions.
The HCAI/OSPHD OSP approval certifies that a product has undergone and passed rigorous seismic testing. This certification is crucial for customers in seismic regions, as it ensures that the equipment can withstand and function effectively during and after seismic events, according to Preferred Utilities.
The newly approved Day Tanks join the company’s extensive lineup of HCAI/OSPHD OSP approved, state-of-the-art fuel oil handling components, from controllers (Master and Component) to advanced filtration units. These products have been rigorously tested for seismic resilience, undergoing shake table tests that simulate earthquake conditions, ensuring reliable performance in challenging environments, the company said.
“Our HCAI/OSPHD OSP approved Day Tanks represent a significant advancement in fuel oil handling safety and efficiency,” said Preferred Utilities President and CEO David Bohn, in the release. “As a company dedicated to innovation, quality, and safety, we are thrilled to offer another product that meets the stringent requirements of HCAI/OSPHD certification. This approval is a testament to our team’s dedication to engineering excellence.”
Designed and manufactured in the United States, Preferred’s Day Tanks ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes, providing “peace of mind for facility operators,” the release said.
“We specialize in creating fully integrated systems that cater to the specific needs of our customers,” Bohn added. “With our latest OSP-approved products, we are equipped to offer unparalleled solutions in fuel oil handling that prioritize safety in seismically active regions.”
