BURLINGTON, Ontario—Burloak Tool & Die reported that it has acquired CADTEK, a metal stamping company that provides high-quality precision components primarily to the automotive and military sectors. The acquisition expands the service offering to customers of both companies, Burloak said in a release.

Burloak Tool is a supplier of die designs, advanced tooling, and production stamping for leading manufacturers.

“Burloak Tool’s acquisition of CADTEK represents a pivotal moment in our company’s growth trajectory,” said Burloak Tool President and CEO Sean Brown, in the release. “We’ve been in dialogue with Mike McCannell, founder and retiring owner, for over a year and we are honored to have been selected by Mike to carry on the CADTEK legacy of high service levels to customers. It aligns perfectly with our values and commitment to delivering comprehensive solutions to the industry.”

According to Burloak, customers of both companies stand to benefit tremendously from the acquisition. Burloak customers will enjoy the company’s enhanced capacity and product offering. CADTEK offers post-stamping value-added services, and is also a registered Controlled Goods supplier. CADTEK customers will also benefit, as the company is now said to have “tremendous operational flexibility, enhanced internal toolmaking abilities, and access to comprehensive die repair services, access to stamping up to 800 tons, and access to servo stamping,” among other capabilities.

Operations will be optimized across the Burlington plants, the St. George plant, and a third site yet to be named. In cases where one plant or the other has operational capacity on newer equipment, some redundant equipment will be replaced and/or upgraded, Burloak said in the release.

Burloak Tool also said in the release that it is excited about the future possibilities resulting from the acquisition and looks forward to a “seamless integration process.” Burloak remains committed to maintaining high-quality standards, exceeding customer expectations, and driving continued success in the metal stamping industry, the company said.
