TEMPE, Ariz.—Foresight Technologies is planning to establish a new Center of Excellence on its Tempe campus, where the company will produce equipment for high-purity fluids and chemical systems, the company said in a release on its website.
The Foresight Technology Center (FTC) will focus on partnerships with OEMs and semiconductor fabs. Its aim is to support development and production of equipment that will deliver high-purity fluids for the semiconductor and chemical markets, Foresight Technologies said in the release.
The Center will consist of Foresight’s existing 80,000-square-foot Tempe operations, plus a new adjoining 100,000-square-foot facility that the company expects to be fully operational in the third quarter of 2023. The Foresight Technology Center is expected to create 250 additional jobs, doubling Foresight’s current employee headcount, the company said.
Foresight Technologies Chief Executive Jeff Hull said in a statement that growing and expanding the company’s capabilities at its Tempe site “was an easy choice.”
“We are excited to make this significant commitment to support the global semiconductor market,” Hull stated. “Foresight has been based in Arizona since 1995, and experienced continued growth due [to] the relationships with leading semiconductor OEMs and proximity to the largest concentration of semiconductor fabs in the U.S.”
The Center will focus on providing high-purity equipment integration and fluid acceptance test facilities for “leading edge OEM modules, slurry systems, chemical distribution, valve manifold boxes, fab infrastructure, and other plastic based equipment,” according to the release, It will serve U.S. and overseas customers, allowing them to rapidly add capacity, lower costs, and provide direct local support for their U.S. based fab customers. It will do all of this while maintaining strategic end customer relations and product IP, the company said.
“Foresight’s expansion adds to Arizona’s fast-growing semiconductor ecosystem,” said Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, in the release. “The Foresight Technology Center will expand our semiconductor supply chain while creating skilled jobs. We are grateful to Foresight for its continued commitment to Arizona, furthering the state as a premier destination for advanced semiconductor operations.”
Foresight Technologies, founded in 1995, operates equipment manufacturing sites in Tempe and in Penang, Malaysia. In addition to producing high-purity tubing and assembling chemical equipment, the company provides precision fabrication of plastics through CNC machining and plastic welding.
“We specialize in complex CNC machining of engineered plastics and metal parts, with critical quality requirements,” Foresight states on its website. “We strive to be our customers’ preferred supplier and collaboration partner with shared goals and objectives. We do this by providing a strategic cost advantage to be the most competitive supplier, and by providing solutions to supply chain challenges.”
